2020 election

The Presiding Bishop, COGIC and The Black Church Action Fund Partners To Ensure Our Voices be Heard During the 2020 Election

Presiding Bishop Charles E. Blake, Sr. and the Church of God in Christ have partnered with The Black Church Action Fund to ensure Black voices are heard by claiming their political power during the 2020 election.

We have mobilized a safe space where COGIC and our community members can easily access information regarding voting status, registration, absentee ballots and mail-in voting.

“I understand that due to the Coronavirus Pandemic and other barriers, some may be concerned about whether or not they can make it to the polls, I’m therefore urging us all to unveil ourselves of every available resource in preparation for the coming election, namely absentee vote and mail-in voting to streamline the registration process.” – Presiding Bishop Charles E. Blake

The Black Church Action Fund and Vote.org Join Forces

The Black Church Action Fund, led by co-founders Rev. Leah Daughtery and Pastor Michael McBride, is an organization committed to ending mass incarceration, defending the right to vote, curbing gun violence, and representing the equitable treatment of Black and brown communities.

Black voter

In May 2020, The Black Church Action Fund and Vote.org partnered on a new initiative aimed at Black faith voters.

In a press release, CEO of Vote.org Andrea Hailey said:

“This moment demands that our communities get organized and protect our votes earlier than ever before. From voting by mail to checking voter registration status, or getting the latest updates on election changes due to COVID-19, we are thrilled to offer all of our Vote.org services to the Black faith community. The Black Church Action Fund reach and grassroots political power, combined with our trusted voter engagement tools, will result in unprecedented efforts to reach Black voters of faith throughout the nation in this critical election year.”

Strengthening Our Voices

ROCS.online (Reclaim Our Collective Strength) is an organization that is committed to building power within marginalized communities by providing churches, activists and community leaders the technology needed to provide secure information to voters regarding their status of registration, absentee ballots and mail-in voting.

As we approach the most important election in U.S history, Presiding Bishop Charles E. Blake, Sr., wants to ensure Black and brown voices are heard and have the opportunity to make an impact on the future of our country.

Join us in fighting voter suppression. Let’s exercise our voice through the power of the church!
